Dena Cloward
Dena Cloward is a powerhouse of talent as she teaches dance with the perfect blend of encouragement, technical skills, discipline, and fun. Dancers love her with fierce loyalty and her dance parents are delighted with the confidence, progress, and performance skills they watch develop under Dena’s positive style of instruction.
Dena comes from a rich dance heritage. A 3rd generation dance teacher following in her mother’s and grandmother’s footsteps. By 13 Dena was choreographing and teaching in her mother’s studio. Her high school drill team recognized her gift and she was soon Head Drill Mistress--choreographing, teaching and leading her team with competition winning routines. Multiple high school drill teams hire her to choreograph, teach and polish their competition routines. By 18 she was a full partner, lead choreographer and primary teacher for all competition teams at her Mom’s the studio.
For 23 years Dena has taught jazz, lyrical, hip hop, contemporary, ballet, tap and tumbling, specializing in jazz technique. From beginning to advanced competition teams & solos, Dena’s choreography and instruction routinely receives the highest awards including: High Diamond, All-Around High Point & Best Choreography Awards.
Dena has had the pleasure of working with dancers in an independent film, on a Gentri music video, with Stadium of Fire, and World of Dance performers.
