Kara Blackburn

Kara Blackburn 2 (2).jpg
Kara started dancing when she was ten years and instantly fell in love with ballet. She eventually moved on to jazz, lyrical, contemporary and modern. She has performed in roles such as Snow Queen and The Doll in The Nutcracker.  She was accepted into Ballet West at the Thanksgiving Point location under the direction of Jennie Creer, along with Jessica Thompson and Lindsay Folkman. Kara was then given many ballet and contemporary solo opportunities in the productions of Giselle, Les Sylphides, Paquita, and contemporary productions of Unspoken, Shame, and Mercy. While a student in the academy, she was able to perform twice at the Utah Film Festival and has been taught by world renowned dance instructors at the Oregon Ballet Theater in addition to Ballet West Instructors. Kara is currently a dance major at Brigham Young University.  She is thrilled for the opportunity to teach and connect with the students at Charisma Dance Studio!
